Rant about BS Fitness Challenges

I get so fired up about BS "Fitness Challenges" - especially by those claiming to be a Fitness Coach.

A challenge that keeps popping up for me is something called 75 Hard, where there are something specific they have to do on the challenge every single day. I will come back to this later...

The biggest problem with this, is we are asking people to do the same thing every day - however our lives aren't always the same each and every day. So even though it is working to create healthy habits, this is an unrealistic plan and is not sustainable for 99% of people.

As a Fitness Coach I feel a sense of integrity to ensure I am showing my clients balanced systems that work and are sustainable, which is why it is frustrating to see "Coaches" teach methods that are not healthy and not sustainable. This challenge is not going to impact your life long-term.

If you are using a method that is telling you to do something for 75 days, then you will have to repeat what is being shown in that challenge in order to maintain any type of results you are getting or they will disappear.

Another issue I have is with 30 day Challenges and putting time constraints on health and weight loss because when those 30 days are completed, most people are likely to sway in the opposite direction and begin binging.

That is why my nutrition philosophy focuses on balanced nutrition because that is what is going to serve you in every day life.

Returning back to the 75 Day Challenge, I have a few issues.

No. 1  It includes 2-a-day workouts. Meaning working out twice in one day. If your workouts are effective you should not need to workout twice in one day.

No. 2 You need rest for your body and your mind. Going 10 days without rest is too long but 75 days is setting you up for failure, on top of setting you up for poor recovery and potential injury.

No. 3 It says to take progress pictures every day! You shouldn't even be weighing yourself everyday. That is going to start weighing on you mentally because you will get into the habit of just picking yourself apart on a consistent basis.

I want my clients and those in my circle to have a more balanced and self loving approach to fitness so that you can make yourself feel healthier and happier.
